Newer Citroëns, the A3 and a proper service record in Wimbledon
Around Wimbledon Village and the roads by Cannizaro Park, the Citroëns tend to be newer: C5 Aircross, C4 and C5 X models, some with plug-in hybrid drivetrains, and many still within their manufacturer warranty. Owners sometimes assume that means the dealer is the only option. Under the Block Exemption rules, an independent garage servicing to Citroën's schedule, with parts of matching quality and the work recorded, keeps that warranty intact. Recalls and warranty repairs still go through a Citroën dealer, and we will point out anything that looks like one.
What we bring is attention to the known issues. On a 1.2 PureTech, the correct B71-specification oil matters for the wet timing belt, and we measure the belt against the latest interval for your engine code. On a BlueHDi, we read DPF soot loading and AdBlue system data. The A3 Kingston Road gives diesels a decent run across the Common, but cars that mostly shuttle between the Village and the town centre can still struggle to regenerate.
Wimbledon Hill Road is steep, with lights and crossings on the way down. Any Citroën with an automated gearbox gets plenty of hill starts there, and the brakes work hard on the descent. We check pad and disc wear, brake fluid age and, on automated gearboxes, stored clutch wear, so there are no surprises. If something needs doing, the written quote comes before the spanners.
Wimbledon is inside the ULEZ, but most of the newer Citroëns we see from here are compliant, so the priority is simply keeping them healthy. The drive to Hackbridge runs down the A24 to Morden and across via Rose Hill, around 20 minutes. Collection and delivery can be arranged, which avoids the town-centre parking zones, and repairs carry our 3-month workmanship warranty. We also work around Championships fortnight, when the Village roads near Wimbledon Park are best avoided.
