An MOT is required by law for any vehicle over three years old. At KITH Cars Garage in Hackbridge, we are a fully authorised DVSA-registered test centre. Our testers hold current DVSA certification. The test covers over 60 items across braking, tyres, lighting, steering, suspension, bodywork, exhaust emissions, seatbelts, windscreen, mirrors and horn. Every item follows a defined pass or fail standard. There is no subjectivity in a properly run test.
Plenty of customers arrive unsure whether their car will pass. That is what our pre-MOT inspection is for. One of our technicians goes through all the main test points beforehand and hands you a written list of anything that needs attention, with a repair quote attached. No charge when booked alongside your MOT. You decide what to fix and when. No pressure at all.
Combining your MOT with a service on the same day is worth considering. The interim service starts from £93 and covers oil, filter and a 25-point safety check. Since the car is already on the lift for the MOT, the combined visit takes less time than two separate appointments. Most people find it the most practical option.
If the car fails, we deal with it. In most cases the required repairs are carried out and the retest done the same day. We quote in writing before touching anything. You are always free to take the car elsewhere for repairs. Most customers find it more convenient to sort everything in one visit, but that choice is entirely yours.
