Dents accumulate over time on almost every vehicle. Car parks are the most common cause, along with shopping trolleys, hailstorms and minor collisions. At KITH Bodyworks in Hackbridge, we carry out dent repairs using the method best suited to the specific damage rather than a one-size approach.

Paintless dent repair is the preferred method where the paint surface is undamaged. Specialist tools reach behind the panel and apply controlled pressure to push the metal back from the inside. No filler is used. No paint is applied. When done correctly, the result is indistinguishable from a factory panel. This works well for round, accessible dents from parking impacts, door dings and hail damage.

Some dents are not suitable for PDR. Where the paint has cracked, creased or chipped at the point of impact, the surface needs repair as well as the metal. In these cases a traditional approach is used. The dent is pushed out as far as possible, any remaining low spots are filled with body filler, the area is flatted and primed, and the topcoat is applied to match.

Timing a dent repair to coincide with a panel respray that is happening anyway makes financial sense. If a door is being resprayed following a scratch, repairing a dent on the same door at the same time adds only £50 for a small dent or £100 for a larger one to the panel price. Two problems resolved for far less than two separate repair visits.

Complex dents with sharp creases, significant deformation or difficult access positions are assessed individually. A deep crease running across a door panel requires more work than a round, accessible parking ding. We will not quote without seeing the damage because the range of difficulty is simply too wide.

Standalone dent pricing starts at £50 to £60 for small dents where the paint is intact. Large and complex dents are quoted after inspection.
