A car that gets serviced regularly is a car that is less likely to let you down. At KITH Cars Garage in Hackbridge, we carry out interim, full and major services on every make and model, following the manufacturer's own schedule with the correct grade of oil and the right filter specification. Serving customers from Croydon, Sutton, Mitcham, Carshalton, Wallington and across South London.
The interim service is the baseline. It covers engine oil, oil filter and a 25-point safety inspection. Brakes checked, tyre depths measured, all exterior lights tested, washer fluid and coolant levels topped up, exhaust condition noted. Anything that needs attention gets flagged in writing with a quote attached. Recommended every 6 months or 6,000 miles.
The full service takes that further. Air filter is checked, cabin filter inspected, and the inspection expands to 40 points covering steering geometry, suspension condition, driveshafts and ball joints. This is the one to book once a year or at 12,000 miles.
A major service is the most thorough option. Spark plugs replaced on petrol engines. Cambelt condition assessed. Coolant flushed and refilled. 60-point inspection completed. Recommended every two years or 24,000 miles, whichever arrives first.
The oil specification matters. We use Castrol lubricants matched to your engine requirements. BMW N-series engines take 5W-30 C3, which is BMW Long Life-04 specification. PSA diesel engines in Peugeots, Citroens and certain Vauxhalls take 0W-30 C2. Modern low-viscosity engines take 0W-20. Using the wrong grade accelerates timing chain wear and can contaminate the DPF. We do not cut corners on this.
After every service, the car is road-tested and all fluid levels are re-checked before we call you for collection. You get the written report, the service record stamp, and a clear note of anything that needs monitoring or repairing. Nothing is done without your written approval first.
