Woodland, playing fields and a slow Central Road
For a suburban area, Worcester Park has a lot of greenery close to its streets. Dancer Dick Wood sits at the corner of Salisbury Road and Cromwell Road, Auriol Park in Stoneleigh is a large playing field, and the Hogsmill Open Space and Nonsuch Park are on the edges. Cars parked near trees gather leaves at the base of the windscreen each autumn, and in spring and early summer the pollen from all that green space is in the air.
Central Road is the only real through route in the centre, and with shop parking, bus stops and crossings it slows right down, especially on Saturdays. North Cheam crossroads adds another queue. Cars spend enough time stationary in traffic for an activated carbon filter to be worth considering, as it absorbs some of the exhaust odours that a standard pollen filter lets through. On a sunny Saturday queue with the fan running, the difference is easy to notice.
The ULEZ boundary runs through the area, with the Cuddington side in Surrey and outside it, so some local households still run older cars. On any older car it's worth checking the cabin filter hasn't been missed at recent services, and some older models have the filter under the scuttle panel, which takes a little longer to reach. We clear the housing, check for damp and fit a correctly sized filter. We'll show you the old filter so you can see what it was dealing with.
The drive takes about 20 minutes: Cheam Common Road to the North Cheam crossroads, Malden Road to Cheam Village, then the A232 through Sutton and Carshalton and Hackbridge Road into Hackbridge. You'll get a written quote before any work and a 3-month workmanship warranty afterwards. Combining the filter with a service or MOT saves a separate trip, and collection and delivery can be arranged too.
