Battery voltage check £30+VAT
Battery voltage and load test confirming whether the battery is serviceable or needs replacing. Replacement is quoted separately after the test.
Battery replacement
Correct Ah, CCA and terminal type confirmed before sourcing. Start-stop vehicles need AGM or EFB specification. A standard lead-acid will fail quickly and disable the start-stop system.
Alternator testing before replacement
Output voltage tested first. A correctly functioning alternator produces 13.8 to 14.4 volts. Low or high output both indicate a fault. Replacement around 2 hours at medium rate.
Starter motor replacement
Battery and relay ruled out before starter motor is ordered. Around 1.5 hours at medium rate.
Glow plugs replaced as a full set
Diesel cold-starting issues. If one has failed, the others are not far behind. Seized glow plugs on older engines are assessed for risk before quoting.
ABS and speed sensors at top rate £84/hr
Fault codes read first to identify exactly which corner is affected. Around 1 hour per sensor plus parts.
