Types of alloy wheel damage
Kerb damage: scrapes on the outer rim from parking. These expose bare alloy to corrosion. Corrosion: white powdery oxidation where the lacquer has been chipped. Impact damage: cracks or bends from potholes — structural integrity must be confirmed. Pitting: small pockmarks from road salt and stone chips.
Diamond cut wheels
Diamond-cut wheels have a CNC-machined mirror-finish face then lacquered. Kerb damage on a diamond-cut wheel cannot be repaired with paint alone — the wheel must be refurbished on the lathe. We carry out full diamond cut refurbishment in-house.
Powder coat refurbishment
Powder coat is applied as a powder and baked in an oven — significantly more durable than conventional paint. Available in any RAL colour. The wheel is stripped to bare alloy, powder coated, and lacquered.
